Assiette – Surry Hills, Sydney
Birthdays are good for you. Statistics show that the people who have the most live the longest.
-Larry Lorenzoni

It was my birthday last week (Yay for getting older…) and I was given the choice of where to dine that day. Since I am a very typical asian, I am very indecisive and would spend hours thinking about where to go for such an occasion even when my list of restaurants to eat at is a few pages long haha. I finally decided to try out Assiette, after drooling over their food at Taste of Sydney and the sound of a $30 recession lunch at a place like this sounded awesomely worthy (from NQN).

When I first entered the restaurant, I was immediately impressed by the setting, staff and general atmosphere of the place (especially the natural lighting through the windows!). The open kitchen was a great sign, so we can watch the magic happen! Spotted Head Chef Warren Turnbull hee hee! I also loved their artsy webby screens
When we first got in, the place was empty but it soon after us quite a few patrons followed, considering it was only lunchtime there was still quite a decent number of people dining here.
Suminoya – Sydney CBD, Sydney (2)

After gorging myself at the Eveleigh Markets/Blackbird Cafe and Lindt Cafe, I did what all other respected foodies do which is to gorge even more on a buffet nonetheless. I have got most of the information about Suminoya on my previous post (here) so this post is mainly just for some drool enticing and meat craving purposes. They have made a few changes from what I remember like how the Gourmet Buffet is only available on specific days which Saturday is not one of them so we had to settle for the Premium Buffet. Since we are all asian that extra 8 dora meant we had to eat at least an extra 30 doras worth of food! Easier said than done when there was still some chocolate milkshake swirling around inside my stomach hee hee.
TW: Night Market 1

When you think of Asia, one of the major attractions is the night markets! Nobody can say no to late late night shopping, street games and supper in the form nibbles here and there. Pretty much every night would end up in the form of night marketing in Asia so it means constant eating haha. Everytime I go back I usually pack on a few kgs sighh! But enough rambling, here is the first night market of the TW series at Sie Ling Night Markets. One problem with going with family is that I feel bad making them wait while I take photos so I ended up missing out on many other foody vendors and other entertaining stores but hopefully this photofest will keep you guys satisfied
Also I don’t know english names of many of the foods so :S *confusion*
