Glass Brasserie – Hilton Hotel Sydney

Glass Brasserie Entrance

shiny....!!!

Ooooo long time since I have posted!!! So bad!! ><    Excuses include – end of year exams and extended holidays in freezing and not so internet friendly europe…. So I thought I might blog up my birthday buffet brunch bonanza (I impress myself with that bit of alliteration lol).

So the Glass Brasserie is somewhat “breakfast amazing”!!!!  They even kindly accepted our single voucher for 50% off for 2 people and applied it to our large party of 9!!!!  Not only was the price fantastic but the food for a buffet was excellent quality.  The great novelty of this was that each of the food labels had a “health-o-meter” attached to each to tell you if it was healthy, carb loaded etc etc for the health conscious eater – personally if I were to go to a buffet I wouldn’t be to concerned in the first place… but I will make concessions for new years resolutioners and those that frequent this venue :P

And ps finally got myself adobe photoshop! huzzah :D

Glass Brasserie Drinks

SHOTTY! - carrot, beetroot and wheat grass, yoghurt smoothies

For a shot of energy and a bit of an interesting wakeup espresso of sorts there was a large selection of vegetable juices and strawberry smoothies.  They were a bit bitter, surprisingly not that bad (though wheat grass does taste like freshly mowed lawn) and it did make me feel healthy.  So hopefully by having some of these I will fulfill my 2 fruit and 5 veg a day -  but boy did they not make up for the following induglences that are to come…

Glass Brasserie Yoghurt

best yoghurt ever

Okay so you know how you haven’t had truly delicious yoghurt until you have had this stuff.  Yalla (and they aren’t endorsing me hehehe) have the creamiest and fruitiest packaged yoghurt I have ever tasted in my life.  It has now become very difficult to swallow other kinds of yoghurt.  Mind you trying to buy it in the fruit markets outside you will end up paying a pretty penny for it.  We were lucky to get several flavours there – mango, strawberry, passionfruit, vanilla and natural.  Yalla btw is arabic for hurry up! or come on! – in the relation of yoghurt… that’s me inhaling it and not swallowing it…

Hilton Hotel Restaurant

the gluttony begins!

I couldn’t use the medium size version of this off Flickr because it was just soooo epic… well I like to think it was epic! The start on the left was the entree you could say from the buffet before the freshly made food came.  The fresh menu as part of the buffet does really set the Glass Brasserie apart from other breakfast buffets.  Not only does it come fairly quickly but they taste great!  It was also nice that all drinks (well non-alcoholic) were included – so the lattes, capaccinos and hot chocolates were a blessing :)   I must rate their barrista as one of the best

Glass Brasserie Honey

pastry corner - heart!!!

This was the pastry section of the buffet – you had breads, sweet things like danishes, doughnuts ^^, muffins and even more types of breads and cakey sort of things.  Best bit… real honey comb!!! I love a bit of honey comb spread on hot toast.

The thing about food is that it is important to let the eyes feast to complete a foodie experience.  Truly a feast for all your senses!

The other awesome little feature was that you could order fresh waffles, omelletes, pancakes, eggs benedict and even more! I liked that they did a great hollandaise sauce that was made on the premises fresh – and we all know fresh is best :)   But to be fair – the quality was fairly good but not earth shatteringly tasty.

The other great thing I found was that all drinks were inclusive… so that morning coffee I am always desperate for was a fantastic addition to my brekky.

Overall the experience at Glass Brasserie was worth every dollar and the best meal to pig out (and health professionals agree… as long as the food items aren’t to lard laden) is breakfast.  Their wide range of choice and excellent provision of fresh and new things for breakfast at a buffet makes this a worthwhile place to go for breakfast.

And last of all some randomness…

  9. Belle@OohLook Says:

That is one good-looking breakfast buffet! It is the Hilton, after all, though. Is it very pricey normally?

  10. cupcake Says:

Re chocolatesuze : tis amazing to have honeycombs!!! and thanks for the wishes ^^

Re joey: lol i think i may have over sold it – but bar dessert being my favourite meal breakky definitely comes a close second :) and thank you for the wishes!

Re Steph: My sister some how got her hands on it – I think they were doing a promotion through emails and she was able to get 2 of them. And they kindly extended it to all 10 of us that were there. And it was a wonderful birthday – esp since i got to spend it with my nearest and dearest at a fantastic meal.

Re mademoiselle délicieuse: it is really hard to find places for breakfast like this – especially buffet. You always come across the half job sort of ones quite easily but hilton did a good job with this one!

Re Karen: ONOZ! Hope you get another one so you get to go!

    Re FFichiban: boo yah!

Re Aptronym: It costs normally I think $43 or $42 – so it isn’t that cheap… but worth your money when you get it 50% off!

Re Belle@OohLook: Yeh it is pretty pricey – but I think it is worth its weight if yourself for the buffet ie stomach training, wear your loosest pair of trousers etc etc :P

  11. Trisha Says:
