Study Food

For those who have followed this blog for a while should know that I have a very healthy obsession with peanut butter (and all things peanuty) and nothing marries with PB better than smooth, rich and velvety chocolate! So when Pupu’s parents came back from Canada, they had a very pleasant surprise for me (Yay, big thx!). It was supposed to be more of a study snack pack, to help me concentrate and none works better than the PB and chocolate sugar boost of Reese’s.

Reese Peanut Butter Crunch
Just as the name states, these were crunchy treats with crispy peanut buter candy, creamy peanut butter and chopped peanuts smothered in a chocolatey coating. Each bite delivered a resounding crunch from the candy and the peanuts while the flavour fusion in your mouth was undeniably good.

Reese Whoppers
These Whoppers are a bit different to the flame-grilled burgers I am used to associating their names with but they are tasty and crispy balls with a melty peanut butter coating. These are basically Maltesers with a peanut butter coating instead of chocolate.

Werther’s Chocolates
I am also a big fan of Werther’s Original candy so these chocolates of almonds, hazelnuts and crunchy toffee covered in milk chocolate would be right down my alley. They are surprising similar to Daim candy though.

Maple Syrup
I love the the novelty maple leafed container and can only imagine the deliciousness being smothered onto hotcakes and pancakes by this rich sauce mmmmm.

Reese Peanut Butter Cups
The classic Reese’s PB cups is still their best product imo. The rich milk chocolate melds with the sweet peanut butter perfectly to form a beautiful combination of flavours and textures.

Mmmm a product that actually looks like the picture!

Pupu’s B’day Boon!

Hee hee hee hee it says nOOb hee hee hee hee… I’m such a nerd
Firstly Yay for holidays, means more free time which hopefully means more posting (not that I didn’t do much during the exams haha) but just time to relax ^^!
But onto the main part of the post, a little while back it was Pupu’s Birthday! (there are quite a few June babies isn’t there?). To celebrate we went to have a nice dinner at A Tavola which is conveniently just a few stores down from one of our favourite chocolatiers Boon! The place was all ready for winter with the cute polar bears with scarves and the snowflakes and what better way to beat back this cold than creamy and rich hot chocolates with delicious and fluffy mousses and a praline to match and melt in the mouth ^^!
Masuya – Sydney CBD, Sydney (2)

Masuya… one of my mother’s favourite restaurants and with good reason too, for it serves some of the finest Japanese cuisine in Sydney in my opinion. It has been a while since our last visit but since we had family from overseas, it was a good excuse to visit once again the underground sanctuary. One of my relatives, my uncle, had actually lived and worked in Japan as a chef for 7 years so not any place would be able to please his tastes hee hee. As he also cooked up some very yummy cuisine, we were very lucky to have him over ^^!

Once again we descent down into the dimly-lit atmosphere usually occupied by Japanese business folk. These stairs remind me of Silent Hill slope descent into the middle of the Earth haha but instead of meeting ugly zombies there is delicious Japanese food and friendly (although a bit fob) staff to enhance your dining experience.
