Take it Slow, Mumu – Crows Nest, Sydney
MOOMOO… I mean Mumu! The slow food movement was founded to combat the fatty and unhealthy fast food chains but a firm believer of good, clean and fair slow food is Chef Craig MacIndoe of Mumu. Thanks to him and the lovely Lorraine, I was invited to Take it Slow dinner where the emphasis is on local, organic, environmentally-friendly and tasty produce straight from the source to our plates.
When I arrived, the others were already busy snapping away in the kitchen and getting details about the produce and cooking methods from Chef MacIndoe
Chophouse – Sydney CBD, Sydney
A restaurant with a name like Chophouse, gets me all giddy and excited because it could only mean one thing… steak, ribs and lots of meaty meat! The restaurant looks like an ordinary one from the outside but once you step inside, the atmosphere consumes you and transports you to another world. A world of classic wooden, rustic setting of comfy sofa benches, giant mirrors, mood lighting and of course the unmissable skull chandelier hanging over the bar.
Chophouse is a sister restaurant of Kingsleys Steakhouse and to be honest, I prefer this kind of relaxing and chilled atmosphere over the more formal and older sister. It is more fun and that means the food also tastes better ^^!
Ribs and Rumps – Gordon, Sydney (2)
I would normally need to find or make up some cheesy excuse for a visit to good old Ribs and Rumps since everyone else is already sick and tired of it haha but this time there was an actual proper reason! Bubbles has just returned from Italian and the rest of the world and was craving a good steak and where else can we get a good Australian steak… a South African restaurant of course! I was more than happy to oblige to a feasting at RnR so away we went.
