Ribs and Rumps – Gordon, Sydney (2)

I would normally need to find or make up some cheesy excuse for a visit to good old Ribs and Rumps since everyone else is already sick and tired of it haha but this time there was an actual proper reason! Bubbles has just returned from Italian and the rest of the world and was craving a good steak and where else can we get a good Australian steak… a South African restaurant of course! I was more than happy to oblige to a feasting at RnR so away we went.

You can’t make friends with salad!

Lamb Chops ($24.95)
Juicy and succulent lamb chops were undeniably good. The meat is sweet and tender and each bite was accompanied with a moan of pleasure. They sure know there way around lamb mmmm.

Pork Ribs
What can we say about these pork ribs that was not said last time hmmm. You have to eat these with your hands Rar and wear a bib whheee ^^! Bite and gnaw away at the bone until you have ripped all the meat clean off the bone and finish it off with a good licking of the fingers yumm (Ribs101).

Steak Roll ($16.95)
This steak roll sure looks tasty, glistening and whatnot all snuggle in the roll mmmmm.

Rib Eye 350g ($34.95)
D made short work of his meal and polished off the medium rare rib eye. Boy did I wish I could swap my rump for his rib eye.

The Original Burger ($15.95)
They may have described this as a plain basted burger but it sure did not look or smell plain in the burger bun with other hidden goodies.

Ribs and Rumps Original ($39.95)

Ribs and Rumps Original ($39.95)
The classic combination which defines this restaurant, juicy and tender ribs and a manly slab of rump. It is a good thing that you can order half pork and half lamb ribs because they are both delicious and it is always better to have some variety.

Garden Salad
Definitely a good idea to have a buffer for all the meaty meat goodness!

Mixed Grill ($47.95)
I tried and tried to order something else but this is too good a value for what you get to pass up on. All the beautiful different cuts of meat all come together to make a unforgettable meal. I also get this because of the lamb cutlets and the egg yumm ^^!

Jenius mentioned last time that I had no side salad and hopefully this time I pass the test

Grilled Black Mushrooms ($10.95)
The smell of these mushrooms from a neighbouring got the better of us and so we ended up getting some for ourselves even though we were overflowing into out dessert stomachs with meaty goodness.

After a meal at RnR I usually hold my belly (to prevent it from bursting, natuarally) and say that I shall never do that again…. but I always do hee hee ^^! As George Santayana and I quote Those who cannot learn from history, tend to repeat it… I like to think that I just choose to ignore it haha.

The egg seems like somewhat of an odd addition to the mixed grill. It’s like they’re trying to put together a balanced meal by incorporating all the protein groups.
Some funny comments btw

The fried egg does look a little out-of-place sitting on top of a rack of ribs. And for a minute I thought the glowing fries were from Springfield. Argh, don’t you hate dim lighting in restaurants

I’d be drawn in by the mushrooms too. Steak is much better with onion and mushroom.
