The Red Balloon (Photo Exhibition) – Waterloo, Sydney

After the Merivale Winter Feasts Launch Party (post soon to come) we mass-headed over for the grand opening of The Red Balloon, a photo exhibition by Billy Law of A Table for Two.

Billy went to capture the aftershock of the Victorian bushfires and had used a red balloon to symbolize ‘dreams, hopes and courage’. It was quite an exciting event as I had never been to a opening of an exhibition before and it was very good experience to feel so classy, staring at the works with a look of deep thought on my face and pondering about life *nods*.
A random comment here and there soon turned into luncheon get together at his gallery to keep him company for a little while and of course indulge on some good food which ended up being the katsusando from Atomic!

When I got there Billy had his hands full looking after Clio (a 7week old puppy awwwwwwwww) and of course twitter
Then enter the other foodies!

and of course Clio! She was at full attention as soon as the katsusando were opened hee hee

Mmmmm our lunch feast!

The juicy and tender katsusandos were just as good as the first time I had them though leaving them for an hour is not that smart an idea as they were only a tad warm and the bread had gone soggy again. But, oh my, the fatty generously sized pork loin with tonkatsu sauce, seeded mustard and soft white bread made a killer combination. Once again the gherkin made me feel healthier about eating just tonkatsu and bread for lunch hee hee.

Mmmm fatty piece… pity it was Yas’ haha and he doesn’t eat crust! I am a crust man so I was a little saddened hee hee

After gorging on the katsusando we had to have some desserts ^^!
Yas brought the remaining Funwari Meijin, and I brought my remaining Loquat Jelly. The Funwari Meijin were peanuty balls of puff that just magically disappears in the mouth, mmmmm so tasttyy! I like the loquat jelly as it is sweet, refreshing and very easy to down with a simple slurp.

Oh so sexyy… tough competition for this photo..

Check out Yas’ ex, Simons beefed up goodness and Billy’s huugggeee lens!
Great lunch guys! Hope to see again soon!

Come check out The Red Balloon exhibition sometime and see if you guys can spot the red balloon ^^!
