Xmas in July!

Deck the halls with boughs of holly,

Fa la la la la, la la la la.

Tis the season to be jolly,

Fa la la la la, la la la la.

Don we now our gay apparel,

Fa la la la la, la la la la…

I was greeted with Christmas carols softly setting the mood in the background, shiny Christmas lights blinking away and a Christmas tree amassing what seemed to be a great hoard of presents. My first ever Xmas in July was guaranteed to be a spectacular one with our gracious hosts Billy and The Pom having invited me and fellow foodbloggers Citrus & Candy, ChocolatesuzeEat, Show & Tell, Grab Your Fork, One Bite More, Penguin Says Feed Me, Raspberri Cupcakes and The <3 of Food. However, there were some conditions for entry into this private party: one must wear thy daggiest jumper, prepare a dish to share with everyone and prepare a Secret Santa gift. Here Comes Xmas in July

Tomislav – Darlinghurst, Sydney

What is there not to like about trying a new restaurant? Unless it turns out to be terrible with bad food, rude staff and smelly toilets :S but when I first saw Tomislav from the outside I knew immediately that that would not be the case with this place. The first step inside I could feel the cozy and warm atmosphere, situated to one side was the open kitchen (so we can spy whether or not they spit in our food :P jkjk) while the rest of the area was dotted with matching tables and chairs.

I am a bit of a sucker for very well presented food so after I saw the review at ES&T I knew I had to come here for my b’day celebration. We were very warmly greeted by an extremely friendly waiter who joked with us and made us feel right at home. First impressions sure do make an impact! After ‘ooh’ing and ‘ahh’ing over features like the awesome butter we took a gander at the menu. They did not have a great variety on their menu but I took this as a sign that they do these dishes very well so Here Comes the Food.

Sugar Hit #3 2009 – Sheraton on the Park

I think one of the hardest decisions to make during this period of SIFF is which Sugar Hit to hit up. Unless you are the ES&T crew who have been to every single one of then hee hee :P For me, reading other blogs and reading the descriptions over and over is how I choose…. But me being me and having a huge weakness for chocolate meant trying Sheraton on the Park.

Warm Chocolate Pudding sprinkled with Golden Almond Splinter, Honeycomb Ice Cream and a drop of Chantilly Cream & Brown Brothers dessert wine

The presentation was picture perfect with the melted chocolate flowing down the side of the beautiful brown pudding mountain while almond splinter dotted along the chocolate waterfall like golden rocks and a touch of sugar snow at the peak. The scoop of honeycomb ice cream is nestled comfortably in its waffle shell and the dollop of cream formed a sort of fluffy cloud.

Chocolate pr0n

When the first spoon sunk into the pudding I myself had a small sinking feeling as I was not greeted by a gooey, chocolatey centered which I oh-so-wished they had. However, the soft spongy pudding when matched with the ice cream and cream created a wonderful harmony of flavours and textures. I do wish there had been more melted chocolate but the ice cream and cream did very well as a substitute. I have to agree with Squishies that it can get a little bit dry when just the pudding but totally disagree on the too much chocolate part as I somehow finished off two of them…

We also spied the cool fish eye mirror and I couldn’t resist a mirror-me shot hee hee

I also enjoyed the atmosphere here which was very relaxed yet sophisticated. Nice cushiony seats and warm lightning made a very pleasant dessert experience. I did hit my head on the lamp as I stood up though haha -_____-

Spotted! Lamborghini Gallardo Superleggera

SO SEXYYY ^^!

Overall I found this Sugar Hit worth trying out although I am still longing for that gooey, oozy center.
