The cold chill of winter is getting to everybody including these cool polar bears who are rugging up with some rainbow scarves hee hee ^^! But I prefer to warm up with a nice mug of creamy and rich hot chocolate at Noob, I mean Boon hee hee. On a cool night there is nothing better than walking into this brightly lit shop and greeted warmly by a cheery Alex and Fanny and the rows of pralines and other chocolatey goodness!

They have introduced some new art into the walls of the terrace lounge and as well as photographer books by the same artist for some chillax browsing (& the girls gossiping while awaiting hot chocolates ^^!)

The newest (which has been around for a while now haha) artistic chocolate additions are the perfume bottles which look very pretty but a pity that they are hollow hee hee (The blue one pictured is inspired by Marie Antoinette!) There are also these Chamallow Maisons which are homemade marshmallows covered in chocolate which I regret not getting but shall definitely get next time!

Milk Hot Chocolate ($7.50) & Belgian Waffles with fresh strawberries, almonds, vanilla bean ice cream and Boon chocolate sauce ($14.50)

Their hot chocolate is a classic must-order as it comes with a shot of fluffy and very toothsome chocolate mousse (which I like to dip into my hot chocolate hee hee) and also your choice of praline. The hot chocolate is of the perfect consistency and is not too sweet as to cause a sugar overload. The belgian waffles are also a great choice because they come warm and inviting with a nice scoop of ice cream with visible specks of vanilla. The strawberries were also a good contrast and cuts through all the sweetness that the oh-so-good chocolate sauce provides, thick and rich for perfect drizzling. I find the waffles here nice and fluffy with a good crunchy crust and not sugar coated like other places but could be warmer.

Tomatosalsa’s and Timmeh’s special chocolate drizzling technique

1) Make hole in ice cream with knife

2) Pour half of the chocolate sauce and watch it as it oozes out and down mmmmm

3) Keep spoon at the ready for digging in as soon as possible

4) Enjoy ^^!

5) Give the rest of the chocolate sauce to FFichiban

Hee hee ok I threw in the 5th step but the idea of an ice cream well is very inventive and I shall try next time! *Yoinks technique*

Boon is definitely a winner of a place to beat the winter chill with their hot chocolates and other tasty treats, along with their friendly service, beautiful atmosphere and chillax music there are many more visits to be had.
